Mitchell received Press Council Award in Technology
Mazharul Islam Mitchell, Senior Staff Reporter of The News Today, has won the Bangladesh Press Council Award-2021 in the Development Journalism category. Nowadays, the number of social media users has multiplied due to the increase in internet usage. Thousands of young and women entrepreneurs have been created in the country by capitalizing on this online market.
For the investigative report titled ‘F-com entrepreneurs increasing: 1.2m transacting Tk100cr every month’ Mazhar this time has won the Bangladesh Press Council Medal-2021 in the category of development journalism.
A total of 4 people and 2 more media houses were awarded in four regular categories. The winners were officially handed over a prize money of Tk 50,000, certificate and crest by the Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud in the prize giving ceremony of Bangladesh Press Council-2021. .
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Murad Hasan and Secretary Md. Maqbool Hossain addressed the function as special guests while Advocate Syed Rezaur Rahman, Panel Chairman, Bangladesh Press Council presided over the meeting.
Poet Nurul Huda, Director General of Bangla Academy, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury and Naeem Nizam, members of the Press Council also spoke in the occasion.
